This fantastically modern exploration of shape and line will impress even the most experienced or jaded fan of abstract art. Inverted Keyboard elegantly displays a unique variety of shapes, both geometric and more indistinct and organic. Nudging up against these shapes are interesting lines, and attractive splashes of colors. This original painting has no real concrete subject, but instead, an array of subjects spread across the whole length of the piece. On the far left side of the canvas is a vaguely square shape that dominates, made out of four bands of dark brown, whose coloration creates the suggestion of woodenness. On the far right side of the multiple canvases that create the whole of Inverted Keyboard are similar shapes, in their entirety or moving beyond the scope of the paintings, but in the very same style of application. Dashing vertically down the canvases are a series of lines that are at junctures perfectly straight, and others, zig-zagging in a general trajectory similar to that of a heart monitor. The background of Inverted Keyboard is pure white on the far left hand side of the canvas, and as the viewer's eyes move toward the center of the piece, we see the background begin to fade into gray, and then, finally, on the far right side of the piece, darken into pitch black. This range of colors provides varying levels of intensity in the piece, and different varieties of contrast that make it quite interesting to behold. In the very center of the painting a yellow streak of paint illuminates the whole piece, and provides a point of immediate focus for the viewer. This painting is an ideal addition to any modern home, or it may provide just the right amount of contemporary flair for houses otherwise meticulously traditional.
The design of Inverted Keyboard is ideal for its subject matter. This painting is comprised of three separate canvas panels. Each of the panels is of the same rectangular shape, and length width, with quite small height. The pieces are situated horizontally. In order for the subject matter to be aligned the pieces must be staggered, so they gradually descend in the manner of stairs.
