The color gray is achromatic and neutral, defined as a mix of black and white, thus, a strongly neutral color that pairs well with nearly any other color found on the color wheel. Gray, while seemingly a very straightforward neutral tone, can actually be warm or  cool, depending on the cast of colors within the particular shade. Warm grays have very slight undertones of yellow, orange and red, while cool grays have hints of violet, green and blue.
